This time, it’s about Theresa Wasowski, who recently volunteered her time and effort at The Mayhew Program, a transformative organization dedicated to challenging and supporting boys to be their best.

Theresa’s Volunteer Experience

Theresa’s recent volunteer work at The Mayhew Program was multifaceted, as she participated in several key tasks that significantly contributed to the program’s operations and support for the boys:

1. Organizing Uniforms: Theresa helped organize uniforms for the incoming campers, ensuring that each boy would have the necessary attire for their activities and events throughout the summer.
2. Re-finishing the Basketball Court Floor: She played a crucial role in re-finishing the basketball court floor, a vital part of the camp’s recreational facilities.
3. Splitting and Moving Wood: Theresa also assisted with splitting logs and moving wood, which is essential for the camp’s various outdoor activities and programs.

Jennifer Crane, Development Director at The Mayhew Program, expressed her gratitude for Theresa’s hard work and dedication. She highlighted how valuable it was for the other volunteers to hear Theresa’s stories and how her contributions significantly advanced their preparations for the upcoming summer.

Reflecting on the Experience

Theresa shared her thoughts on the experience: “Being part of the spring clean-up crew was labor-intensive and exhausting, but from the moment you step off the boat onto Mayhew Island, you know how special it is and how passionate the staff and trustees are about the program.”
