100 Acts of Kindness Initiative: Enhancing Biodiversity with NH Audubon
As part of our ongoing 100 Acts of Kindness initiative, Grappone Automotive Group is thrilled to share another heartwarming story of community involvement. This time, it features Mickey Breau, one of our dedicated Honda Team Leaders, who recently volunteered his time and effort with NH Audubon, a non-profit organization committed to protecting New Hampshire’s natural environment for wildlife and people.
About NH Audubon
Founded in 1914, NH Audubon has been a pivotal force in wildlife conservation and environmental education across New Hampshire. The organization’s mission encompasses land stewardship, advocacy for sound environmental policies, and fostering a deeper connection between people and nature.
Mickey’s Volunteer Experience
Mickey’s recent volunteer work took place at the NH Audubon Pocket Pollinator Garden, a project aimed at enhancing local biodiversity by planting native species and removing invasive ones. Working alongside the Nature Groupies, a subset of NH Audubon, Mickey helped pull invasive non-native plants to make room for beneficial native plants that support local pollinators.
“Being an outdoorsy person, for my 100 acts of kindness I teamed up with the Nature Groupies. We worked on pulling invasive non-native plants to make room for some native plants to help our little pollinator buddies! This was lots of fun!” – Mickey Breau
The Impact of Generosity and Teamwork
The project not only involved physical labor but also highlighted the importance of community collaboration and environmental stewardship. Mickey’s enthusiasm and dedication did not go unnoticed. Willamina Coroka, NH Audubon’s Project Implementation Specialist, expressed immense gratitude for Grappone’s support, stating:
“It was an immensely challenging project that we couldn’t have completed without Mickey’s endless energy and enthusiasm. I am so grateful to Grappone for allowing him the opportunity to assist with our Pocket Pollinator Garden. It came out stunning and I hope to stay in touch with the Grappone team moving forward.”
Mickey’s work with NH Audubon exemplifies the powerful impact our team members can have through the 100 Acts of Kindness initiative. At Grappone Automotive Group, we are proud to support projects that enhance our community and preserve the natural beauty of our region.
