What Is Changing in 2026?
Beginning January 31, 2026, New Hampshire will end the requirement for annual safety inspections on most passenger vehicles. Emissions testing may also be removed later in the year, pending final decisions from state regulators.

Do I Still Need to Have My Car Inspected?
Not by state law. But keeping your car safe and running properly is still important.
Grappone will continue to provide a complimentary multi-point inspection during every service visit. That means every guest receives:
- A technician video showing your vehicle’s condition
- A color-coded inspection report to review at your own pace
- A detailed check of brakes, tires, lights, filters, fluids, belts, battery, and more
This inspection has always been part of how we serve our guests, and it will continue in 2026 and beyond.
What Is Included in Grappone’s Multi-Point Inspection?
Every visit to a Grappone service department includes a full inspection to help you stay informed. We show you what is working well, what may need attention, and what can wait. This includes:
- Brake condition and rotor measurements
- Tire tread depth and wear patterns
- Battery health and connections
- Exterior lights including headlights, brake lights, and signals
- Wiper blades and washer system
- Engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, washer fluid, and transmission fluid (when accessible)
- Cabin and engine air filters
- Belts, hoses, suspension, and underbody
- Steering alignment
You will receive a technician video and digital report showing the condition of your vehicle. There is no pressure and no guesswork.
Will Grappone Still Inspect Vehicles Before Sale?
Yes. Every used vehicle sold at Grappone will continue to receive a complete safety check and reconditioning process before it is listed for sale.
We will continue to inspect all vehicles thoroughly, even without a state sticker requirement. Our guests can trust that each vehicle has been reviewed carefully by trained technicians.
What Happens to the 10-Year Free Inspection Benefit?
This benefit will be phased out as the state ends inspections. However, all other guest benefits remain unchanged.
We are exploring new ways to offer long-term care and value, and we look forward to sharing more in the coming months.

Do I still need to get an inspection in 2025?
Yes. The change takes effect in 2026. All inspection requirements remain in place through the end of 2025.
Is emissions testing ending too?
It likely will in the coming months. The state is reviewing how emissions testing will be handled moving forward, and final decisions are expected later this year.
