Why Are So Many New Hampshire Dealers Charging Above MSRP? 
We’ve received call after call asking if we are charging a “market adjustment” on our inventory. It seems that dealers everywhere are low on inventory, and charging thousands of dollars over and above MSRP is becoming more common.

 

 
At one time, this charge was found mostly on exotic brands and rare sports cars. Many New Hampshire automotive shoppers have been shocked to find market adjustments being added to economy sedans.  At Grappone Automotive, our team has been asked if we, too, are charging consumers more because of the unique supply shortages in the market. 4th generation steward, Amanda Grappone Osmer, said it best, “We will not charge a market adjustment on our vehicles to profit off the hardships of our community.” Consumers don’t have the same leverage to negotiate prices as when inventory levels were high. Our mission is to serve the community.

This is why you will not see a vehicle marked above MSRP on any Grappone dealership’s website, or on our lots.

You may still find a “Specialty Vehicle Charge” on a few rare new vehicles, like a 2022 F-150 Raptor, or 2022 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Rest assured, this is a rare occurrence and not something that we apply to our standard everyday inventory.
