Grappone Family History

An amazing family story about trust, service and a personal commitment that started nearly 90 years ago.

We are a fourth-generation family owned automotive group working hard to turn upside-down the guests perception of the auto dealership experience. Our guests tell us that they are pleasantly surprised to be treated and valued as individuals. They feel comfortable when they visit and confident that we've been honest and have delivered a quality experience, and a vehicle that is fairly priced.

We believe that this happens because we listen to our guests. We know that most people hate the hassle and wasted time of the back and forth negotiation process, so we've put the fun back into buying cars with our upfront pricing and negotiation free buying process.

The people of Grappone Automotive Group are driven to amaze our guests with outstanding experiences delivered daily in each of our five dealerships, in our collision center, and through our wholesale parts operation.

By 1939, Rocco added Desoto and Plymouth franchises to his growing business built on customer service.

As World War II increased, so did the demand for rubber, Rocco saw an opportunity and established a tire retread business in 1941.

In 1944 John Deere joined the growing Grappone family.

Rocco turns the business over to his son, John, who expands the Pontiac franchise. The Grappones add the AMC/Jeep and Ford franchises.

Allen and Bob join their father, John in the business. From 1968 to 1974, Grappone expands to acquire Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Honda.

In 1982, The Grappone Automotive Group begins offering Ford heavy trucks. In 1989, Suzuki is added. Allen and Bob take control of the family business in 1990 and add Saturn in 1991. Grappone operations begin in Vermont. The Saturn dealership expands to Nashua.

In 1994, Bob Grappone became the sole owner of the Grappone Automotive Group. Over the next ten years, we welcomed Bob's children, Amanda and Greg, as the 4th generation of Grappone's to join the team. We also completely renovated the Ford, Toyota and Honda dealerships.

Grappone continues to lead the industry in innovation, building the first LEED Cetified Toyota dealership in New England. The family owned company continued in tradition as Amanda and Greg became part owners alongside Bob. Bob was also nominated for the prestigious Time magazine Quality Dealer Award, securing Grappone Automotive Group's place as one of the Nation's leading dealerships.

Today, Grappone is committed to our guests, community and team members more than ever. Our recently renovated Toyota building is the first LEED Certified Toyota Building in New England and is only 1 of 20 in the nation. Our efforts through Grappone Cares have donated over $20,000 this year alone to deserving non-profits and charities.
